IF760 / IF767 (Tópicos Avançados (Advanced Topics), 2020–2021), IF866 (since 2021.1) · Undergraduate, CIn/UFPE · 2020.2 – 2023.1 (co-taught with Filipe Calegário; subsequent offerings taught solely by Filipe Calegário)
Systems that generate, evaluate, and transform creative artifacts; co-taught with Filipe Calegário from 2020.3 to 2023.1.

01 · Teaching
Criatividade Computacional (Computational Creativity, IF866) is a course created by Filipe Calegário and co-taught by Giordano Cabral from 2020.3 to 2023.1. It is a 60-hour elective, offered by CIn since 2020 and open to all of UFPE since 2022.2. There is no exam: the grade comes from a project and a reflection report on the process itself. Between the 2020 and 2023 classes, the tools studied went from StyleGAN2 and DeepDream to ChatGPT and GPT-4, and the projects incorporated tools released the previous month.
02 · Teaching
Six editions co-taught: 2020.2 (IF760), 2020.3 (IF767, remote), 2021.1, 2021.2, 2022.2 and 2023.1 (IF866). With Giordano Cabral's leave for his postdoctoral fellowship, from 2023.2 onward the course continued with Filipe Calegário alone; his repository holds the projects from 2023.2 to 2024.2.
03 · Teaching
Each student documents examples from the field using a shared template and produces content about creativity; experiments with the semester's tools (StyleGAN, VQGAN+CLIP, DALL·E 2, Stable Diffusion, GPT-3, LangChain, depending on the year); creates an original project "in the artist's shoes", with a public gallery; and develops a final team project — a computational creativity tool — with a pitch, a low-fidelity prototype and architecture, a partially working system, a presentation, a post-mortem and a 360-degree evaluation. In 2022.2, the thirteen final projects were presented in sessions open to the public in the CIn amphitheater.
