Specializes in network protocol design and evaluation.
He is an Assistant Professor at the College of Computer Science,
Northeastern University, Boston. Previously, he was with the faculty of
Computer Science at SUNY Stony Brook.
Professor Tsaoussidis is involved in the technical committees of
IEEE TCCC, ACM SIGCOMM and SIGMOBILE and in the program committees of several conferences.
He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Wireless
Communications and Mobile Computing, by Wiley, where he is also the guest
editor of the 2001 Special Issue on "Reliable Transport Protocols for Mobile
Computing".
He is also the guest editor of the Journal of Supercomputing
on the issue "Design and Evaluation of Transport Services".
Prof. Tsaoussidis was one of the first researchers that studied the
energy/throughput tradeoffs of reliable transport protocols, a topic that
has recently gained significant attention.
He has recently addressed these
research issues in the context of wireless communications and
mobile computing as invited panelist and speaker at various
conferences, institutes and industries.
Vassilis Tsaoussidis has published over 30 technical papers.
