## License scope

| Material owned by Pedro M. M. de Castro | Applicable license |
| --- | --- |
| Original JavaScript implementation in `app.js`, `engine.js`, `worker.js`, `notation.js`, `ux.js`, `ux-state.js`, `blocker-check.js`, `collection.js`, `collection-check.js`, `journey.js` and `journey-state.js`; original CSS in `style.css`, `typography.css`, `ux.css` and `journey.css`; original HTML structure and interface markup in `index.html` and `about.html` | Apache License 2.0 (`LICENSE`) |
| Original explanatory prose, scientific notes, captions and documentation, including original interface prose embedded in HTML or application modules; separately protected original expressive scientific illustrations, considered apart from the generating software and third-party elements | Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (`licenses/CC-BY-4.0.txt`) |

These are separate scopes, not a choice of two licenses for the same material. CC BY 4.0 does not license the program code. A diagram-producing function is code; its separately reused original scientific figure is a figure. A screenshot can contain third-party marks, fonts or other materials outside the original-contribution scope.

The official license texts are reproduced unchanged. Their standard terms govern reuse. `NOTICE` supplies the author, title and canonical URL for attribution. No additional requirement to keep a clickable footer is imposed. Apache-2.0 notice handling follows its Section 4, including the permitted source/documentation/notice locations in Section 4(d). CC BY 4.0 attribution and links follow its standard reasonably practicable and medium/context provisions.

## Third-party and separately licensed material

The scope above covers only original contributions owned by Pedro M. M. de Castro. It does not relicense third-party libraries or code, datasets or derived databases, fonts, the CIn/UFPE institutional marks, articles or reproduced paper figures, quotations or other separately owned materials. Their existing licenses, copyright and attribution notices are preserved. The arXiv article retains its own terms; citing it does not change those terms. Mathematical facts, algorithms as ideas, numerical data and geometric outputs that are not protected by copyright acquire no new restrictions.

The demo uses local shared site resources: KaTeX and its fonts, Inter, Latin Modern and the CIn institutional mark. Their notices remain in the corresponding shared `licenses/` and `assets/vendor/katex-0.19.0/` resources, provided with this site. The site's shared scope note is `../../licenses/demo-original-contributions-2026.txt`; it describes the four modern demos and adds no condition to these licenses. This README supplies the new demo's precise scope. No prior permission is withdrawn and no restriction is added to uses permitted by law.

## Run locally

Serve the site over HTTP and open `/~pmmc/demos/nonnested-matchings/`. JavaScript modules and the computation worker require HTTP; opening the HTML through `file://` is unsupported. Shared font and KaTeX resources are served locally by the site. No CDN is used.
