CALL FOR PAPER: ---------------------------------- I Brazilian Petri Net Meeting 2-6 September, Natal, Brazil, Piramide Palace Hotel Sponsored by SBC (Brazilian Computer Society), SBMICRO (Brazilian Microeletronics Society) and SBA (Brazilian Society of Automatic Control). Petri nets were introduced by C. A. Petri in his seminal work in 1962. Since then Petri nets have been applied in several areas for modeling and analysis of concurrent systems. Among those areas in which Petri nets have been considered are concurrent programming, computer network protocol design and analysis, modeling and control of flexible manufacturing systems, hardware design and analysis, software engineering and performance analysis. The main attraction of this model is the way the main aspects of concurrent systems are captured both conceptually and mathematically. Nowadays "Petri nets" is actually a generic name for a whole family of models considered for fundamental and practical research. This is the first event exclusively staged in Brazil dedicated to the area of Petri nets. This meeting will take place within 14th Brazilian Automatic Control Conference. Brazil already has a significant number of researchers working in this field. This will also be an opportunity for researchers from abroad to familiarize with the breadth of work being done in Brazil, and to share their own experience here. Papers presenting contributions in any area of application and theory of Petri nets are sought. Prospective authors are invited to submit six single-spaced typed page papers, 10 or 12-point font, in two-column format, in English. The first page should include the title, author(s) identification, author(s) affiliation, and an abstract. Authors should include the complete address, phone/fax numbers and e-mail address, and designate a contact person and a presenter. Submissions must be in one of two formats, either an Acrobat PDF or a Postscript file. SUBMISSION OF PAPER: Electronic submission in PDF or postscript.
