Brazil is a federation of 23 states in addition to the federal district of Brasilia (where our politicians gather!). The conference is held in a small resort known as Nova Cruz around 15 Km away from Recife capital of one of the northeastern states: Pernambuco. The nearest airport is called Guararapes Airport. Few people use this name though, most simply refer to it as the Recife Airport.

Most flights are not direct to Recife, you may have to first fly to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro in the South and then fly back north to Recife.

Please let us know of your travel arrangements as we are going to provide transportation for all conference speakers and members of the technical committee for MWCN´2001.

Hotel accommodation is handled by the conference organizers, all you need to do is to fill the form on the web and will pass on the information to the hotel. Do not worry if there is no explicit information field about the number of nights as I can get (deduce) this information from the total amount to be paid. The next thing to do is to send me an e-mail saying when you are expected to arrive at the Recife (or Guararapes if you insist!) airport and for how long you will be staying. You may consider staying the weekend!

Please make sure you get your travel arrangements sorted out as soon as possible. Please check if some inoculations are required ( I am told this could be the case for US folks!!).

Those who need to apply for VISAs (from countries such as the US, Canada, Eastern Europe, etc...) please make sure you apply in time.
