Education: PhD. in Computer Science, Columbia University, New York, USA

Current Research Interests:

§         Software Engineering:

o        Software Reuse, Model-Driven Engineering and Architecture,
Component-Based Development, Formal Methods, Aspect-Oriented Development,
Agent-Oriented Software Engineering.

 

 

§         Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Agents:

o        Multi-Agent Simulations for Games and Educative Software, Cognitive Robotics, Robotic Soccer.

§         Automated Reasoning and Knowledge Representation:

o        Constraint Programming, Constraint Handling Rules, Object-Oriented Logic Programming,
Inductive Logic Programming, Probabilistic Logic Programming.

 

 

Ongoing Research Projects:

 

§         ORC2AS: Objects, Rules, Constraints and Components for Agents and Simulations

o        Long term project including ROARS, C4RBCP and MODELOG as first steps.

 

§         ROARS: Reuse-Oriented Automated Reasoning Software

o        In partnership with Universtät Ulm, Universtät Mannheim, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and
Universidade de Pernambuco, funded by CAPES and DAAD.

 

§         C4RBCP: Components for Rule-Based Constraint Programming

o        In partnership with INRIA, funded by FACEPE and INRIA.

 

§         MODELOG: Model-Oriented Development with Executable Logical Object Generation

o        In partnership with Universidade Federal de Campina Grande and
Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris 6, initially funded by CAPES and COFECUB.
