The Communication and Information Systems Research Group – CISG is part of Centro de Informática (CIn) of Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife, Brazil.

The group main research interests include:

  • Computer and telecommunications networks;

  • Optical communications;

  • Broadband fixed access networks, wireless and mobile networks;

  • Cooperative and wireless communications;

  • Software defined networking, datacenter networking, cloud computing;

  • Cognitive radio;

  • Smart Cities;

  • Error control coding: turbo and LDPC codes;

  • Applied information theory.

CISG Professors coauthored a proposal of a R$ 1.3 M research grant for CIn/UFPE

CISG Professors Divanilson Campelo and Daniel Cunha coauthored the proposal to deploy at CIn/UFPE the Multiuser Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Next Generation Communications and Energy Efficiency (LICGEE), approved by FINEP. The project amounts R$ 1.3 million (Brazilian Reais). Only six projects from UFPE have been approved in the CT-Infra call.

CISG Professor received award at the XXXI Brazilian Symposium on Telecommunications (SBrT)

The paper “On the Efficiency of Binary Huffman Coding in Extensions of Information Sources” (in Portuguese), authored by researchers Diocleciano Neto, Everton Lacerda and the professor Daniel Cunha, was awarded as the Undergraduate Research Best Paper at the XXXI Brazilian Symposium on Telecommunications, occurred in September 01-04, 2013 in Fortaleza-CE.
