The Third South American Workshop on String Processing (WSP'96) will take place in Recife, Brazil, as part of a bigger event: the XVI Conference of the Brazilian Computer Science Society. The First and Second Workshops were held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in September 1993, and in Valparaíso, Chile, in April 1995, respectively.

WSP'96 is being sponsored by the following organizations:

WSP'96 is intended to provide a forum for discussion among researchers interested in all aspects of string processing. The Proceedings of WSP'96 will be published by Carleton U. Press, Ottawa.
